Description

This is a tall-cylinder quartz banger with a full weld between the bucket and the neck – meaning the joint is fused all the way around rather than seam-welded on one side, which is where cheaper bangers crack first. The taller cylinder holds heat longer than a flat-bottom bucket and gives the vapour a little more room before it travels down the neck. Choose the angle that matches your rig: 45 degree for angled joints, 90 degree for straight vertical joints.

Full weld construction is the difference between a banger that lasts a season and one that fails at the seam after a few dozen heat cycles. The tall cylinder shape also keeps oil away from the very top of the wall, so less of it scorches on the way in.

Compatibility

Fits any 14mm female joint. A 45 degree banger belongs on an angled joint and a 90 degree banger on a straight one – fitting the wrong angle will point the bucket at the floor or the ceiling.

Care

Let the quartz cool and swab the bucket with a cotton bud after each use; residue left to re-cook is what clouds quartz permanently. Never heat to glowing red, and give the banger 30-45 seconds to drop to working temperature before dabbing.

Good to know

A tall cylinder takes slightly longer to heat than a thin flat bottom – allow a few extra seconds on the torch and a slightly longer cool-down.
