Description

The Triton is the pocket scale that other pocket scales get compared to, and the reason is the flip-up cover: it protects the platform in a bag and doubles as an expansion tray when you need to weigh something wider than the pan. Both versions read to a hundredth of a gram. The difference is capacity and power – the T3 tops out at 400g on disposable batteries, the T3R takes 500g and recharges over USB so you are not hunting for AAAs.

Why it stands out

Compatibility

Use the tare function with any container. For repeatable readings put the scale on a hard, level surface – a table cloth or a soft mat will change the number.

Care

Keep the cover closed when the scale is not in use so the load cell is not stressed. Never leave weight sitting on the platform in storage, and do not exceed the rated capacity even briefly.

Good to know

0.01g resolution means the last digit will wander slightly with air movement. Calibrate with a proper test weight rather than a coin if the readings ever look off.
