Description
VapeBrat Copa 20mm E-Nail Kit
The Copa is the most straightforward of these four VapeBrat e-nail systems: a compact controller, a 20mm barrel coil and a quartz bucket designed to fit 14mm or 18mm female glass joints. A barrel coil wraps the sidewalls of the bucket rather than enclosing the bottom like an axial coil, which makes the Copa easy to understand and easy to live with if you want repeatable torchless concentrate sessions without jumping directly to a larger axial or terp-slurper setup.
Best fit: someone who wants a compact first e-nail, uses conventional bucket-style dabs, values simple rig compatibility and does not need the larger thermal footprint of the 25mm DripPit or 30mm Slurper.

How to use this e-nail correctly
An e-nail replaces the repeated torch-heat-and-guess cycle with a powered controller and heater coil that can hold a repeatable set temperature. The controller is not a portable battery e-rig and it is not a ball vape: it is a desktop electronic nail system designed to heat the matched quartz banger through the supplied coil while the banger is installed on a compatible glass rig.
Before the first session
- Set the controller on a dry, stable, heat-resistant surface with open airflow around it.
- Confirm the supplied coil is the correct VapeBrat coil for the supplied VapeBrat controller. Do not assume that another brand’s 5-pin connector has the same wiring.
- With power OFF and the unit unplugged, seat the coil on the matching banger exactly as designed. Do not force a coil over quartz that is too large or allow a loose coil to hang where it can fall.
- Install the banger into a compatible glass joint with the controller and cable positioned so nobody can pull the rig over.
- Connect the coil to the controller before applying power, then connect the power cord to a grounded outlet.
Understanding the temperature number
The controller’s displayed set value is a control reference, not a promise that every point on the quartz surface is exactly that temperature. Coil contact, quartz thickness, airflow, room temperature and heat soak all affect the real surface temperature. VapeBrat commonly describes roughly 500–650°F as a practical operating range for its Micro controller family. Start conservatively, let the system stabilize, and adjust in small steps based on flavor, vapor density and residue rather than chasing one universal number.
A practical starting approach: begin near the lower end of the manufacturer’s working range, allow several minutes for the coil and quartz to become evenly heat-soaked, then increase in 10–20°F steps only if concentrate is pooling instead of vaporizing. If flavor tastes scorched, the vapor is painfully hot, the quartz is darkening rapidly, or residue is burning onto the bucket, reduce the setting.
Heat soak matters
An e-nail can reach its set point before the entire quartz banger has reached thermal equilibrium. For repeatability, give the system time to stabilize after the display settles. The exact time varies by banger mass and coil style. Axial coils contact the bottom and sides and generally distribute heat more broadly than a simple barrel coil, while a barrel coil concentrates heat primarily around the bucket walls.
Taking a dab
- Use a clean banger and let the e-nail stabilize at your chosen setting.
- Place a modest amount of concentrate onto the heated quartz with a dab tool. Do not overload the bucket simply because the controller can maintain heat.
- Cap the banger with the included cap or marble system so airflow moves concentrate across the heated surface.
- Inhale smoothly rather than pulling as hard as possible. Excessive airflow can cool the surface and pull material away from the intended vaporization zone.
- When vapor production falls off, remove the cap carefully and begin the cleaning routine while residue is still easy to remove.
Cleaning after every session
Keeping quartz clean is more important than running an aggressive burn-off. While the banger is warm but no longer dangerously hot, use a clean cotton swab to remove remaining oil. A lightly moistened isopropyl swab can be used once the quartz is cool enough that the alcohol will not instantly flash. Never drip solvent onto a powered coil or controller, and never immerse the controller or electrical connector.
For deeper cleaning, power the system off, unplug it, allow the coil and quartz to cool completely, remove the banger from the coil, and clean the quartz separately. Avoid sudden thermal shock such as putting cold liquid onto very hot quartz. Thermal shock can shorten quartz life even when the damage is not immediately visible.
Routine maintenance
Inspect the power cord, coil cable, Kevlar sheath, XLR connector, banger and glass joint before use. A damaged electrical cable, cracked quartz banger, loose connector or unstable rig is a reason to stop using the system until the damaged part is replaced. Keep the controller vents free of dust and do not cover the box while it is operating.
Controller and coil compatibility
VapeBrat specifically warns that its coils are intended for VapeBrat controller boxes and may not be compatible with other brands even when the plug looks physically similar. Five-pin XLR-style connectors are not proof of electrical compatibility. A mismatched thermocouple polarity or heater pinout can cause incorrect readings, uncontrolled heating or equipment damage. Use the matched controller/coil pair unless the manufacturer explicitly confirms compatibility.
What to do if something seems wrong
Controller powers on but the banger does not heat: turn the system off, unplug it, allow it to cool, verify the coil connector is fully seated and inspect the cable for damage. Do not repeatedly hot-plug the coil.
Temperature seems unstable: make sure the coil fits the banger correctly and is making the intended contact. Large swings, obviously wrong readings or uncontrolled heating are reasons to power down rather than compensate by guessing at a new set point.
Concentrate pools: first confirm the system has fully heat-soaked and the dab is not oversized for the bucket. If both are correct, raise the set point gradually rather than making a large jump.
Flavor is burnt or the quartz darkens quickly: reduce the temperature, reduce the load size and clean more thoroughly between dabs. Repeatedly baking residue onto quartz causes staining and eventually devitrification.
Coil slips or moves: stop, cool the unit completely, and secure the coil using the retention method built into the specific banger/coil system. Do not improvise with tape, plastic, wire coatings or other materials that are not designed for high heat.
Important heat and electrical safety
The coil, banger, carb cap and nearby glass can remain hot long after the controller is switched off. Treat the entire heated assembly as hot until it has fully cooled. Keep it away from children, pets, curtains, paper, alcohol, cleaning solvent and other flammable materials. Do not leave an energized e-nail unattended. Keep liquids away from the controller and electrical connectors. Use a stable glass rig that cannot easily tip when the coil cable moves.
What an e-nail does not include
Any glass shown alongside this item in photos is for display only unless the listing says it is included. These kits are designed to attach to compatible glass; the rig itself is not included.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same thing as an e-rig?
No. An e-rig is usually an integrated portable or semi-portable device with its own water chamber, battery and atomizer. An e-nail uses a separate powered controller and coil to heat a banger or nail installed on traditional glass.
Is this a ball vape?
No. A ball vape is primarily a dry-herb convection heater built around a heated mass of balls or beads. These VapeBrat products are concentrate e-nail systems.
Can I run it at 900–1000°F because the controller can reach that?
The controller’s maximum capability is not a recommended everyday dab temperature. VapeBrat repeatedly points users toward approximately 500–650°F for normal use on this controller family. Very high settings increase harshness, baked-on residue and burn risk.
Can I swap in another brand’s coil?
Do not assume compatibility. Matching plug shape and coil diameter are not enough. The manufacturer explicitly warns against cross-pairing VapeBrat coils with other controller brands without confirmed electrical compatibility.
How often should the banger be cleaned?
Lightly clean it after every dab and deep-clean when residue begins to persist. A clean quartz surface gives more repeatable flavor and is easier to maintain than a banger that is repeatedly heat-cycled with residue baked onto it.
